Gabriel J. Markiz, CPA, CFP®
|
|
Gabe specializes in providing tax and financial advice to both individuals and small businesses. In addition, he provides comprehensive financial planning on a fee-only basis. His experience spans over twenty years of service, fifteen of those years in his own firm. He previously held senior positions at Arthur Young and Ernst & Whinney. He received his BS in Accounting from California State University – Northridge in 1983, received his CPA certificate in 1985, and earned his CFP designation in 2002. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants (ORCPA), National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) and the Financial Planning Association (FPA).

Russell D. Francis, CPA, CFP®

Russ has 19 years of experience in investing and tax planning. In addition to being a Certified Financial Planner, he is an Enrolled Agent and a Certified Public Accountant. Previous experience includes teaching high school physics and 10 years as an Editorial Systems Manager for the Los Angeles Times where he shared the Pulitzer Prize for reporting on the 1992 Los Angeles Riots. In 1996 he was the branch manager of a local independent securities firm. In 1997 he became a fee-only financial planner and registered as an Investment Advisor with the State of Oregon. Russ is a graduate of the College for Financial Planning, and has a post-bacc certificate in accounting from Portland State University. Russ is an active member of the Oregon Society of CPAs, and the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors.

Randi Alberts-Markiz - Firm Administrator, Accounting/Tax Staff

Randi has been working in the accounting field for twenty five years. She began as a bookkeeper to put herself through UCLA, where she earned a BA degree in Anthropology. She moved on to the accounting department at ABC Television and then to Ernst & Whinney in the Business Management department. She began her own Business Management Firm in 1984, and ultimately merged that practice into her husband’s accounting practice. She enjoys the balance of handling the office administration at Markiz & Francis as well as keeping her hand in accounting and tax preparation as part of the staff.
